Road works on Roebuck Street extended to Thursday

Roadworks on Roebuck Street in the City have been extended until Thursday, weather permitting.

This is to allow Infra Construction Inc to deep-mill sections of the road after some soft spots were identified following the initial milling. Excavation will begin Sunday night.

The team will work all day Monday and then continue each night until Thursday from 7:30 p.m. to 6:30 a.m.

Work began on Friday from the junction of Roebuck Street and Crumpton Street to the James A Tudor Roundabout under the Ministry of Transport and Works Accelerated Mill and Pave Programme.

During milling, access will be permitted where possible to local, emergency, and public transportation only. However, the road will be closed during paving. Traffic will be diverted at Crumpton Street, Gills Road, Passage Road, Country Road, and from the James A. Tudor Roundabout. Pedestrian access is allowed.

Transport Board buses travelling from Hindsbury Road and Tweeside Road will be diverted to Halls Road onto Constitution Road, then to the Granville Williams Bus Terminal during the paving process.

Motorists are kindly asked to obey signage and directions given by flag persons, and if travelling through the work area, to proceed with extreme caution.

MTW and Infra Construction Inc. thank businesses, residents, and motorists for their understanding and cooperation. (PR/MTW)
