A shooting in Clapham, St Michael on Monday afternoon claimed the life of one man, bringing the island’s homicide count for the year to 25.
The incident occurred around 1:30 p.m. at 1st Avenue Fordes Road, police reported. The victim, whose identity has not been released, was taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in a private vehicle but was pronounced dead on arrival.
Detectives have launched an investigation into the killing, which marks a grim milestone in the island’s struggle with violent crime this year amid a government-sanctioned truce between warring gangs.
Police have not disclosed any information about potential suspects or motives for the shooting.
