Update: Ionics Desalination Plant Back Online

Today Thursday, September 19, 2024, Ionics Freshwater Ltd. has updated the Barbados
Water Authority (BWA) that operations have resumed at the Desalination Plant on the
Mighty Grynner Highway.

While the facility is functioning at maximum capacity once again, residents in the listed
areas may continue to be impacted until the water systems supplying their districts are
replenished.

In St. Michael

Cave Hill, Wanstead, Husbands Heights and surrounding areas.

In St. James

West Terrace, Oxnards, Ricks Land, Halls Village, Oxnards Crescent, Haynesville, Durants Village, Thorpes, Appleby, Derricks, Fitts Village, Holetown, Jamestown Park, Mount Standfast, Paynes Bay, Porters, Prospect, Sunset Crest Trents, Sandy Lane, Lower Mount Standfast, Storehouse Gap, The Garden, Weston, Lower Crick Hill, Lower Carlton, Prior Park, Warrens Terrace, Warrens, Warrens Park South, Clermont, Clearview Heights, Husbands, Husbands Gardens, Husbands Development, Meadowvale Heights Crystal Heights, Hoyte’s Village, Seaview, Halcyon Heights, Sunset Ridge, Lancaster, Orange Hill, Endeavour, Apes Hill, Greenwich and surrounding districts.

Customers are reminded that the Authority will continue to assist residents of the
affected districts via tanker as a temporary measure.

The Barbados Water Authority apologizes for any inconvenience this service disruption
