As part of World Consumer Rights Week, stakeholders in consumer rights gathered today for a workshop under the theme Your Footprint Matters.
The event, organised by the Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs, aims to promote sustainable living practices.
Participants included representatives from the Barbados Fair Trading Commission, the National Standards Institute, and the Office of Public Counsel. Discussions covered a range of topics, including the benefits of eating locally-produced food, food fraud prevention, and the importance of proper food labeling.
Deputy Director of the Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs Margaret Campbell Leslie highlighted the workshop’s focus on eating locally-produced food, food fraud, the importance of proper food labelling, energy efficiency and the role of businesses in providing sustainable products. ( LG)
