Payce Digital supports Junior Kadooment with $4K sponsorship

Mobile payment solutions firm Payce Digital has announced a $4 000 sponsorship to Colorz Entertainment’s Animal Kingdom themed band for Junior Kadooment.

The partnership was formalised at a press conference at Payce’s Haggatt Hall main office.

Band manager Bryan Worrell highlighted the tremendous response to their Junior Kadooment band, revealing its expansion from 300 to 400 participants due to an overwhelming demand.

“The response so far from the public has been amazing. The band has been sold out in its previous two years. Pre-registration is already two-thirds full. We have two sections that are already sold out. The response has been overwhelming,” he said.

“We actually increased the number of participants from last year to this year, and so far, the response is magnificent.”

The band’s official launch, set for Saturday at 6 p.m. on Colorz Entertainment’s Instagram page (@colorzentevents), will open registration for the remaining sections.

The band manager noted that the Tiger section is already sold out, while the Butterfly all-girls section has only five remaining costumes. Other sections still have limited availability.

Worrell explained that the focus of Colorz Entertainment’s Junior Kadooment band is not on competition but on providing a fun, party-style experience for the children.

He said: “We want to give them a party element, not so structured in terms of, you know, you’ve got dance routines and this, and you’ve got to have all these different segments to win the prizes. We are more interested in the kids having fun, giving them costumes that are a little more, you know, modern, and bringing forward more of what a junior reveller is supposed to look like, migrating towards being a senior reveller. So that’s the approach that we took, and so far it has been going very, very well. So we’ll continue in that vein, and we’ll continue to add things as we go.

“Maybe this year we’re looking to add a king and a queen to the band. Then we’ll try to get into a little bit more as we go by. Still, our third year. We don’t want to do too much too fast.”

Gail Welch, Payce’s business development manager, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership: “Brian and his team have built a brand that promotes serious, fun, energy and professionalism over the years. Today, Colorz Entertainment celebrates 25 years of producing bands for Junior Kadooment, Foreday morning and Grand Kadooment, doing so with style, a family vibe and definitely colour.”

She revealed that Payce Digital is offering their cardholders more ways to pay for their costumes, using their Payce Digital cards or remotely via the Payce Digital app.

Through this sponsorship, the financial services company will provide convenient payment options for participants, allowing them to pay for costumes using their Payce Digital cards or the mobile app. Welch also revealed that non-cardholders would benefit from a special sign-up offer in April and May.

Payce’s box office service, introduced last year as part of its loyalty programme, will return in 2025, she said. “This year, our box office service is back. We welcome back Island Mas’ and our ticketing platform partners, Ticket Nation and Ticket Pal. A full list of the partners and the discounted ticket prices will be announced via our social media pages soon.”

Participants will be able to make payments using their phones or tablets.

Digital ambassadors at the band house will also assist with the process and conduct pop-up events. Payment instructions will be shared across Payce Digital’s platforms to ensure accessibility. (LG)
