Shelton Dewayne Milton Blackman has been released on $10 000 bail and told to stay away from the Barbados Community College (BCC) student he is accused of stabbing.
After spending seven weeks on remand, Blackman, of Denton Road, Grazettes, St Michael, reappeared before Chief Magistrate Ian Weekes in the No. 1 District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court on Monday and was granted bail after there were no objections from the prosecutor.
He is charged with causing serious bodily harm to Whiniki Morris-Buntin with intent to maim, disfigure, or disable him on February 5.
Magistrate Weekes adjourned the matter until August 12 and informed the 20-year-old to stay away from Morris-Buntin and his family, including via social media.
Attorneys-at-law Andrew Willoughby and Matthew Willoughby represent the accused.
