Police are appealing to the public for information as they investigate the fatal shooting of 21-year-old Omari Lee Grant Jordan on Monday evening.
The Belle Gully, St Michael resident sustained several gunshot wounds when two masked men opened fire as he was socialising outside a residence in The Ivy around 4:20 p.m. He fled but collapsed along 8th Avenue, The Ivy, where he succumbed to his injuries.
As investigations continue into the fatal shooting, lawmen are asking anyone with information to contact the District ‘A’ Police Station at 430-7242 or 430-7246, Police Emergency at 211, Crime Stoppers at 1-800-TIPS (8477), or the nearest police station.
Police have issued a similar appeal for information regarding another shooting, which they said occurred on the same day around 6:29 p.m. at Ceres Land, Grazettes, St Michael.
In that incident, a man – whose identity has not yet been released – was standing outside his residence with another individual when two masked assailants wearing hoodies approached and opened fire. The victim was shot in the left side of his chest, as well as his right thigh and calf. He ran toward Grazettes Main Road, where he collapsed.
He was transported to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in a private vehicle.
Police reported on Tuesday that he remains in critical but stable condition.
