Foot and mouth disease case at St Ambrose Primary

The Ministry of Health and Wellness has confirmed one case of foot and mouth disease, while three others presented with rashes from St Ambrose Primary.

As a result, it has advised parents to keep students in nursery and reception at home so those areas of the school can be sanitised.

“Parents should also monitor their children for any symptoms and present them immediately for medical treatment,” the Ministry of Education said in a statement in which it disclosed confirmation of the case.

Meantime, the education ministry said Parkinson Memorial Secondary School will also remain closed on Friday to facilitate a thorough cleaning of the school premises following recent repairs and treatments carried out at the plant.

It said students, teachers and staff will be advised on the date for reopening. (PR/BT)
