Police are investigating a fatal stabbing in St Philip. The victim has been identified as Vincent Gooding, 52, of Rices.
Just before 1 a.m. on Sunday police received a report that a male had collapsed with what appeared to be stab wounds at Cave Land in the parish.
Officers from the District ‘C’ Police Station responded to the area and discovered a male lying motionless on the ground. Their investigations revealed that the victim was liming with a group of people in the area of a shop when he became involved in a dispute and was stabbed about his body.
Ambulance service personnel were summoned and on their arrival found no signs of life. A medical doctor pronounced death at the scene.
