No money, no work!
That’s the message striking staff of the University of the West Indies Cave Hill sent to administrators Wednesday.
Despite the assurance that they will receive money owed to them by today, they said they will not return to work until they see the funds in their bank accounts.
Throughout the day, the over 200 workers drawn from the administration, maintenance, security and other departments, supported by General Secretary of the Barbados Workers’ Union Toni Moore, and other members of the union’s executive, marched through the campus to the chants of ‘No retreat, No surrender’, ‘No money, No work’.
They were cheered on by several students.
