Gun importation trial to begin on Wednesday

The trial of three people accused of conspiracy to import firearms into Barbados almost eight years ago is set to begin on Wednesday in the No. 3 Supreme Court.

Akem Marvon Waithe, 32, of Greens, St George; Skye Yasmin Lecreta Murray, 36, of Perry Gap, Roebuck Street, St Michael; and 50-year-old Colin Alfonso Wooding of Green Hill Drive, Silver Hill, Christ Church, are jointly charged with conspiracy to import firearms sometime between November 1, 2016 and December 5, 2016.

Waithe is represented by King’s Counsel Michael Lashley while Murray and Wooding are represented by Senior Counsels Angella Mitchell-Gittens and Arthur Holder respectively.

Justice Carlisle Greaves is to preside over the matter.
