Met Office issues caution at beaches on West Coast

The Barbados Meteorological Services (BMS) is advising seabathers and other marine users to exercise extreme caution at beaches, particularly along the western coastlines of the island.
In a marine area information statement issued today, the BMS said a frontal system that has been affecting the northeastern Caribbean over the past few days, moved into our area last night. It explained this has caused a rise in surf activity along the western coastlines of the island.
The forecasters warn that sea bathers and other users of the sea should exercise caution and they should use beaches with an on-duty lifeguard.
The BMS said this activity is expected to persist this weekend into early next week peaking around Monday. A high surf advisory may be issued over the weekend.
