Some proclaim “change” as a constant factor yet resist it. Do you see changes in your future? Your reply may well be: “I can’t see into the future.” Yet you plan for the next day, the next week, the next month, the next vacation. Ha, gotcha!
In some organisations, the plan for the next day or as far as only the next week may affect how they function in years to come. To my mind that ‘plan’ or that ‘no-plan’ seems relevant to what’s going on within the ranks of the Democratic Labour Party.
The question they face is: ‘How to treat to an interloper or someone who may be perceived as an ‘invited guest speaker?’ The subsequent occupation of the highest seat in the party by the ‘uninvited’ – to use language lawyers may understand – was neither by force of arms – in Latin “vi et armis” – nor by invitation -“invitatio teneris”. It seems the proper description for the interloper’s entry may well be in Latin “per parachute” meaning “by parachute”.
If, however, the parachutist did not land within the city walls he may well have had to break through the battlements – both physical and logistical to gain entry and acceptance. Let’s hope he did gird his loins otherwise when he stands to speak it may be revealed whether he has what it takes or not.
The command from the master of ceremonies may well be “Rise (or fall) Sir Ralph, speak to us of change.”
